EDITING PROCESS

Since 1995, when I began my professional writing/editing career with a field research report
for the Library of Congress, I have learned that I holistically processes what are considered,
described, and charged as separate editorial functions. Using Word’s track changes, I correct errors and leave questions and comments for you
in the margins.
You engage exclusively with me throughout the process.

YOU CHOOSE

Then, you either address the comments and questions, approve or disapprove
my suggested edits, and respond to me with any further questions and a follow-up round. Many academic professionals
I work for just want one
run-through and then fix their manuscript/paper according to my edits. It’s up to you and your budget.

PRICING

My do-it-all-together approach results in simple, all-inclusive billing per hour that saves time and money. Highly disorganized, complex, confusing, or rushed manuscripts may be billed
at higher rates.

“Corinna Fales is a brilliant, dedicated, diligent, insightful editor who adds both the small things that make something glow with intelligence and the large things that make one think and get clearer.”

 –   Mack Lipkin, Jr., MD; Professor of Medicine & Director of the Division of Primary Care,
Internal Medicine at New York University School of Medicine & Bellevue Hospital Center

Corinna Fales

Corinna grew up at the first degree-granting historically black university and the adjacent poor community, and spent many years in Newark and Harlem. Being white in these environments has made her unusually qualified to understand how different readers and audiences may receive the same material.

In 1995, after completing a master’s degree in social policy and training in psychotherapy, Corinna began her writing/editing career (DBA as Corinna Fales Consulting) with a research report for the Library of Congress. Since then, she has served educational, governmental, and non-governmental entities as a writer/editor and has authored two books.

In 2019, Corinna was the MLK Day keynote speaker for administrative personnel of Duke University’s hospitals and has been interviewed for podcasts and magazines. In 2023, she delivered a TEDx talk: “Rethinking Political Correctness.”

Her first book, Different: Our Universal Longing for Community, is interview-based and set at Lincoln University, where Corinna grew up. Republished in 2023, it is intended for general and classroom use.
Her second book, This book is not a safe space: The unintended harm of political correctness, was published in 2020. Both are available at Amazon and Indie outlets.
